Dr. Seth Peterson founded The Motive Physical Therapy Specialists with the goal of offering a better physical therapy experience. After working in Oro Valley for several years, Dr. Peterson fell in love with the community, and decided to open a locally-owned company that could offer a better choice.
Dr. Peterson is committed to excellence in clinical care. He is one of less than 1% of physical therapists to have completed both residency and fellowship training, where he has had the opportunity to train under national experts in the field of orthopedic physical therapy and spine management. He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, and is Tucson’s premier spinal physical therapy specialist.
Dr. Peterson continues to maintain a faculty position at A.T. Still University while also teaching in local and national postgraduate programs. He is an author published on topics relating to differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, and spine management in journals such as the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy and the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Physical Therapy, among others. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous journals, including the journal Spine. Dr. Peterson is also a leader in local and national organizations aiming to improve physical therapy care.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Peterson has called Arizona home since 2010. His wife Katie is a Tucson native and practices medicine in the city. Together, they have a young son Lincoln and enjoy exploring the outdoors. Seth feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in such a wonderful community and help people live a more enjoyable and active life.
