Dr. Seth Peterson founded The Motive Physical Therapy Specialists with the goal of offering a better physical therapy experience.  After working in Oro Valley for several years, Dr. Peterson fell in love with the community, and decided to open a locally-owned company that could offer a better choice.

Dr. Peterson is committed to excellence in clinical care.  He is one of less than 1% of physical therapists to have completed both residency and fellowship training, where he has had the opportunity to train under national experts in the field of orthopedic physical therapy and spine management.  He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). Dr. Peterson continues to maintain a faculty position at A.T. Still University, and mentors residents and fellows-in-training at his clinic.  He is an Associate Editor of The Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy and has over 30 peer-reviewed publications. His writing has also appeared in a number of literary journals.

Additionally, Dr. Peterson is a leader in local and national organizations aiming to improve physical therapy care. He has won The Emerging Leader Awards for both the American Physical Therapy Association and AAOMPT. He is the co-owner of The Movement Brainery, a continuing education company, and has hosted several podcasts.

Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Peterson has called Arizona home since 2010.  His wife Katie is a Tucson native and is a naturopath in the city.  Together, they have two young sons, Lincoln and Wyatt, who enjoy exploring the outdoors.  Seth feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in such a wonderful community and help people live a more enjoyable and active life.
